Belzona Celebrates 60 Years at the Top
January, 2012, begins the year in which Belzona will celebrate its 60th anniversary. On 14th February this year, Belzona will turn 60 and to acknowledge this achievement will be hosting various events throughout 2012. The biggest of the celebrations will see a 3 day event which will go ahead on 22nd – 24th April 2012 where the global network of Distributors will be joining us.
The company dates back to 1952 when it was founded by Jörgen Svendsen and originally launched in Elland, West Yorkshire as a metal flame spraying company. In 1957 the company then moved to Harrogate, North Yorkshire where it pioneered the development of innovative polymer technology that has revolutionised the ways in which repair and maintenance procedures are carried out within industrial and commercial facilities, with substantial investment in Research and Development and Manufacturing. Belzona has progressed to being a world leader in the design and manufacture of industrial protective coatings and polymer repair composites. They provide repair, protection and improvement of Machinery, Equipment, Buildings and Structures.
Belzona operates through a global distribution network of over 160 Distributors present in 125 countries who help deliver a wide range of solutions to problems encountered in facilities maintenance and heavy industries such as Power Generation/ Distribution, Water/ Wastewater and Oil/Gas/Petrochemical.
Over the past couple of years, Belzona has seen a significant investment in the business, including the opening of new training facilities in Thailand, Hong Kong and Canada. In 2010, a large extension was added to the Harrogate head office which allowed expansion of the Belzona training facilities. To support the international Belzona network and meet the needs of Customers worldwide, the company boasts a specialist engineering support team operating from five corporate Belzona centres situated in England, USA, Canada, Hong Kong and Thailand. Belzona hopes that their 60th year will be as successful as previous ones as plans for further investment are already underway.
